Film review, final grades for Chiefs' win over Eagles
The Chiefs put together another impressive showing in their Week 2 win over the Eagles.
It was a close one for most of the game but Kansas City ended up pulling away in the fourth quarter. After hitting the game film, it’s time to hand out final grades for each position on the Chiefs.
Quarterback: A-
Alex Smith didn’t put up flashy numbers like he did in Week 1, but I couldn’t find many negative things to say about his play against the Eagles. Most of his miscues were caused by the offensive line allowing pressure or the receivers’ inability to get open.
The one mistake I found with Smith was his slight overthrow to receiver Tyreek Hill in the end zone.
The good overwhelmingly outweighed any bad for Smith, though. I picked out two of my favorite plays from Smith in Week 2.
This first one was a simple pump fake which caused defensive end Brandon Graham to jump prematurely. It seems like Smith knew the pressure was coming and the pump fake was pre-planned. This play shows great awareness by Smith.
this was my favorite play from Smith. I feel like it ultimately won the game for the Chiefs. This perfect pass, which put the Chiefs in field goal range,As I noted earlier this week,Authentic Shane Lechler Jersey, deflated Philadelphia’s defense and basically guaranteed that KC would go up by two possessions.
Running backs: A
Is there any football player better than Kareem Hunt right now? I can’t think of one.
the broken tackles,It’s not even the big plays that I appreciate the most from Hunt. It’s the small ones. The balance,Authentic Ryan Griffin Jersey, the ability to take a hit and keep moving forward. All of that is what makes Hunt a tremendous running back.
Here’s another clear example of Hunt’s balance and tackle-breaking ability. The effort he put in to getting that touchdown was insane.
so he could’ve easily decided to go down and try again on the next play. Nobody would have blamed him for it. But nope,It was first down when he scored the TD,Womens Marcus Peters Jersey, instead he clawed for every inch and somehow sneaked the ball in between the legs of Bryan Witzmann. That’s dedication.
Also note fullback Anthony Sherman’s block on the first run. The Chiefs can depend on Sherman to take those big hits and make way for their running backs.
