Preseason Finale: What to look for out of Gang Green on Thursday night

The New York Jets wrap up their preseason tomorrow night against the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium. Here are some key things to look out for as Todd Bowles and Gang Green approach the regular season.

Will McCown take the field?

On Monday,Womens Jamal Adams Jersey, Todd Bowles announced that Josh McCown had won the starting quarterback job over Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty. McCown, has only played one series in the green & white so far: the first series of the preseason., however

McCown went 3-4 for 72 yards and a touchdown in that series in which he also threw a 50-yard bomb to the up-and-coming receiver Robby Anderson.

McCown’s quality play that game along with his extended NFL experience won him the starting job,Womens Marcus Maye Jersey, but is that the right move this year?, but it will be interesting to see if that will carry him all the way to Week 1. Bowles has never played his starting quarterback in the preseason finale

2. Who wins the backup spot?

it is still in the hands of the coaches.,Authentic Morris Claiborne Jersey,While many project that Petty will earn the No. 2 spot over the rookie Hackenberg

but was that enough?,Petty out-shined Hackenberg in last week’s tilt against the cross-town rival Giants

Petty said “I’m going to give it all I’ve got to go on Thursday.” Bowles also expects him to be ready for Week 1 if need be.,The battle will continue tomorrow as Petty prepares to suit up after falling to injury in the closing minutes last time out. According to the team

As for Hackenberg, this is the last chance he will likely have for a while to prove his worth. If he can show he has learned from his previous preseason mistakes, something that is not unlikely., he could make it a tight race for the No. 2 spot. He could also prove to Bowles that he can be relied on if injury prevails in either of the other quarterbacks

3. Birds of prey

According to the team, the preseason has been a bit nicer., Gang Green is 0-10 against Philly all-time in the regular season. Ouch. However

the Jets have won eight of the past nine.,Womens Eric Decker Jersey,The Jets are 23-15 all-time vs. the Eagles in summer ball. When they’ve played in the Meadowlands

It will also be a intriguing to see Dexter McDougle and Terrance Brooks on the opposite sides of the table. The Jets traded McDougle, to the Eagles for Brooks on Sunday.,Authentic Jamal Adams Jersey, who highly impressed during training camp

4. Defensive Dynasty?

The Jets young and versatile defense looks poised to prove themselves this season. This is the last chance they’ll get to work out any mishaps they might have.

but seemed to slip up a bit in both games against Detroit and New York.,Authentic Marcus Maye Jersey,The preseason has been up and down for this defense. They showed up and played effectively in their first game against the Titans

Rookies Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye will get one last opportunity to tune up their play styles as well. As the first pair of rookies to start in a Jets regular-season opener since 1960,Authentic ArDarius Stewart Jersey, but in the long term as well., the two will need to play both aggressively and cautiously. An injury to either one could not only hurt the Jets this year

5. Battle of the backfield

this will be the final shot for either Matt Forte or Bilal Powell to run away with the job of being the feature back.,Womens ArDarius Stewart Jersey,While they may not get many touches

Forte,Womens Morris Claiborne Jerseyy, is hoping to get back into the groove of things and be ready for Week 1 against Buffalo. Bowles may give him a few carries to make sure he can handle a full workload next Sunday if need be., who is coming off injury

who is battling age and injury problems.,It will also be a great chance for him to prove his worth. Rumors began circling Tuesday that the team was testing the potential trade market for Forte
