to the point where “Coke vs. Pepsi” often feels like a weird,We live in uncomfortably polarized times, unnecessary blood feud.

After the horrible news regarding Derek Dorsett, adidas Carter Hutton jersey, the Canucks put together one of their most memorable games in the last two seasons.

including the game winner. Nikolay Goldobin was solid in his season debut,There was a real ‘playoff feel’ against the defending champs of the Western Conference. ‘Brockstar’ and reigning rookie of the month Brock Boeser had two goals, setting up the game-winner.

Oh, and some guy named Daniel Sedin got his 1000th point in the NHL.

Just when you thought you couldn’t top all of that mayhem from Thursday, adidas Jake Allen jersey, the Maple Leafs rolled into town.

Gone are the days of the Canucks dominating the Leafs. Those ten years were great for Canucks fans, but the wrath of Toronto has bestowed itself upon Vancouver in recent years.

The Leafs have 4-1-1 against the Canucks since busting the ten-year winless streak against them in February, 2014. These Leafs are a lot more dangerous than the crew that beat Vancouver on that night.

they turned the beleaguered Edmonton defence inside out,On Thursday night against the Edmonton Oilers, adidas Steven Stamkos jersey, peppering Laurent Brossoit with 35 shots. Many of those chances were of the Grade-A variety.

Toronto still gives up a lot. This game could be a track meet. Last time that was a predicted outcome against the New York Islanders, adidas Nicklas Backstrom jersey,As good as their offence is, it didn’t go so well

Ok, enough with the negativity. There are a lot of good things happening with this team right now.

The 3-2-1 road trip should be considered a success, and it ended on a high note after strong performances from a few key players.

Boeser and his 13 goals are now up to seventh in the league. On his wing, adidas Philipp Grubauer jersey, Goldobin showed promise that he can play and create offence in the NHL. A second great game tonight would go a long ways to solidifying his spot on the Canucks roster.

The other glaring positive to come out of that way was the play of the Sedins and Loui Eriksson. Their line combined for eight points, showing the promise that Jim Benning surely envisioned when he signed Eriksson to that mammoth contract.

in limited minutes, were able to create with easier matchups. Whether it is the Sedins or someone else,Can Eriksson and the Sedins keep it up and provide solid secondary offence? Eriksson has looked superb since coming back from injury. The Sedins, adidas Michael Hutchinson jersey, secondary scoring should be a factor in a game that had lots of offensive promise.

The battle hymn song today definitely sounds like sometime you would work out to after chugging some potent pre workout.

it’s proper weird and most importantly,It’s heavy on the drums, it parlays the perfect message for today’s game.

GAME DAY PREVIEW: Vancouver Canucks vs. Toronto Maple Leafs - Dec. 2/17

After the horrible news regarding Derek Dorsett, the Canucks put together one of their most memorable games in the last two seasons.

including the game winner. Nikolay Goldobin was solid in his season debut,There was a real ‘playoff feel’ against the defending champs of the Western Conference. ‘Brockstar’ and reigning rookie of the month Brock Boeser had two goals, setting up the game-winner.

it’s proper weird and most importantly,It’s heavy on the drums,Authentic Carter Hutton jersey, it parlays the perfect message for today’s game.

Sometimes the game at hand isn’t the most important thing going, and today would be one of those days.

Maybe this news shouldn’t be a shock, but Derek Dorsett and the Vancouver Canucks announced that the gritty winger has been shut down for the season because of a persistent neck injury.

they will be without one of their biggest leaders in the locker room. It’s a swift and unexpected blow for the young team,Authentic Jake Allen jersey,For the Canucks now, and someone will have to step up in his absence

The Canucks will face their toughest test of the road trip tonight in Nashville. Will they buckle under the pressure, or can they bring one home for Dorsett?

On the other end of the rink,Authentic Steven Stamkos jersey, the Canucks as a defensive unit have four goals and 32 points.

Yikes.

More on the Canucks defence in a second.

As much as goalie Pekka Rinne takes flak for his inconsistencies, the Finnish netminder is among the league’s best goalies with a 14-3-2 record and a .928 save percentage.

The Preds are also 10-1-1 in their last 12 games. They haven’t lost in regulation since they dropped a 6-4 game to the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 16th.

They also have one of the best home records in the league at 9-1-1 overall. It feels like the Canucks have seen this before on the road trip?

This will undoubtedly be a stiff test for the Canucks. The Preds will be a measuring stick for the Canucks to see how they fare against the league’s elite.

So after whispers were growing about Anders Nilsson getting more playing time, he goes into Brooklyn and gives up five goals.

after one of his poorer starts,Of course,Authentic Nicklas Backstrom jersey, Nilsson gets the nod again tonight against Nashville.

It’s a tough test fo Nilsson to go up against two of the best home teams in the league in back-to-back games. Hopefully, he embraces the challenges gets back to his shutout form from earlier in the season.

In other Canucks news today, Goldobin will make his season debut.

The kind words and thoughts for Dorsett were floating in this morning as the news broke.

No word on who draws out of the lineup in favour of Goldobin, although I’m sure many fans would be upset if Jake Virtanen was the guy to come out.

The other glaring option would be Alex Burmistrov,Authentic Philipp Grubauer jersey, who hasn’t done much of anything while he’s been in the lineup.

it would bring a much-needed scoring punch to the Canucks lineup. However,If Goldobin can impress, what really separates these two teams offensively is defencemen.

and seven if you count Eriksson’s pace. The Preds have five,The Canucks have six forwards who have at least 12 points,Authentic Michael Hutchinson jersey, but six if you count Turris’ production through nine games in Nashville.

the Preds lead the league in points from the back end. P.K. Subban, Roman Josi and Mattias Ekholm all have more than 15 points. The Canucks highest scoring defenceman is Michael Del Zotto,As mentioned before, who has one goal and nine points in 25 games.

more is needed offensively from the likes of Ben Hutton, Alex Edler,Although Derrick Pouliot has looked good, and Troy Stecher. All of these defenceman have shown scoring prowess in the past. It’s unlikely the Canucks will move up the standings until the defence can start to contribute more on offence.

a player known for his high energy physical play,Vancouver Canucks forward Derek Dorsett, has been told that he shouldn’t play anymore because of health risks.

is suffering from cervical disc herniation, and was evaluated by famed sports injury surgeon,Dorsett. 30, Dr. Robert Watkins.

” Dorsett said in a retirement statement released by the team. “It will take a long time for this to truly sink in. As hard as it was to hear, Dr. Watkins’ diagnosis is definitive. There is no grey area,"I’m devastated by the news, and it gives me clarity to move forward.”

Through the Canucks, Watkins said the herniation is “adjacent and separate” to his previous fusion. Watkins had performed cervical disc surgery on Dorsett in 2016.

I advised Derek not to return to play,"Given his current condition and the long-term significant health risk,” Watkins said.

” Vancouver general manager Jim Benning said.,"He’s an example of what you can accomplish if you persevere

Dorsett said he leaves the game proud of the way he played.
