Canucks star rookie Brock Boeser appeared to have won it with a blistering shot 45 seconds into overtime, but replays showed the puck went off one post and then another without crossing the line.

The Leafs then had a man-advantage with Boeser off for slashing but failed to convert.

Boeser scored in the second period and Sam Gagner in the third to put Vancouver ahead 2-0 before Matthews and Bozak brought Toronto back.

"One of the best games we've played in a while," Canucks coach Travis Green said. "That's a good hockey team over there and I thought we did a good job limiting their chances. That was just a really good hockey game."

Toronto finally beat Jacob Markstrom at 8:23 of the third when Matthews tipped in a pass from Zach Hyman for his 19th. Bozak tied it at 12:37, knocking in his own rebound after a long stretch pass from Morgan Rielly sent him in alone.

" Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said. "It's a real big win, I really did. I thought he knew what was going on, a real big two points for us,"Our power play wasn't good (0-for-4 including a man-advantage in overtime) ... but we found a way to win a game down 2-0, he was dialed in.", but I think you've got to give them credit. I thought they did a good job, I thought their coach did a real good job with his bench too

who had just returned to action from a groin injury,Vancouver defenseman Chris Tanev, left the game in the first period after taking a deflected shot to the face on his fourth shift that left a pool of blood and several teeth on the ice. Defensive partner Michael Del Zotto retrieved the teeth.

Tanev had a bloody lip and his face was swollen after the game. The team had not yet checked if he had any fractures, but Tanev was set to remain with the team on its road trip.

Boeser put the visitors ahead at 2:59, beating Andersen stick-side with a snap shot off Thomas Vanek's feed.

It should be some wild three-on-three games!

There was one trade in the NHL on Wednesday as the Chicago Blackhawks picked up Anthony Duclair with Luke Clendening in exchange for Richard Panik and Laurent Dauphin.

The big name in the deal is Anthony Duclair who had 20 goals as a rookie a couple of years ago but regressed last season. This year he has nine goals and 15 points in 33 games with goals in each of his last two contests.

Richard Panik is a journeyman forward who will see time on the second or more likely, third line for Arizona.

Clendening should be up and down from the minors but more likely down while Laurent Dauphin, who was a second round pick in 2013 by Arizona will head back to the Coyotes after spending all season thus far in the AHL. He was part of the Niklas Hjalmarsson deal in the off-season that sent him to the Blackhawks.

The one obvious thing heading into action on Wednesday was that Andersen was going to win. Or would it be Anderson?

Well it was Craig Anderson over Frederik Andersen as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3.

Anderson made 45 saves on the night as the Maple Leafs outplayed Ottawa but Anderson stymied the Maple Leafs time-and-time again to steal the win for the Senators.

He is 12-13-5 with a 3.21 GAA and a .899 save percentage. It has not been a good season for the Ottawa goalie but he was on his game Wednesday.

The loss snapped Ottawa's two-game winning streak and was the team's most lopsided loss of the season.

" Senators captain Erik Karlsson said. "And then going in the third down 6-2 it's going to be hard, adidas Claude Giroux jersey,"I think we started the game the way that we wanted to and then in the second we kind of give them a little too much, and especially when they're having a night on their PP (power play) and they score another two."

The Blackhawks scored five times in the second period to break open the game and finished 4 for 6 on the power play.

Ottawa has been outscored 61-34 in the second this season.

Toews scored his second of the game at 3:24 of the third period to extend the lead to 7-2 before Kane chipped in with his team-leading 18th on the power play.

Both Ottawa goaltenders have struggled all season, but veteran Dion Phaneuf said it's unfair to put the blame on them.

"I don't think in any circumstance that we need more saves. It's on us in front of our goaltenders to do a better job," Phaneuf said. "We made mistakes. We made mistakes in key areas and our goaltenders have been solid."

The second period was once again troubling as Anderson gave up three goals on four shots in a span of 4:39.

the Blackhawks took a 4-0 lead as Toews scored on a rebound to end Anderson's night., beating Anderson five-hole and,Sharp gave Chicago a 2-0 lead at the five-minute mark with a wrist shot from the top of the circle. Schmaltz made it 3-0 with his first power-play goal of the game,Authentic Connor Hellebuyck jersey, 1:38 later

with his third in as many games,The Senators managed to cut the lead in half when Stone, Authentic Nolan Patrick jersey, beat Forsberg short side. Brassard then made it 4-2 by driving to the net and tipping Stone's shot in off his chest.

But two late power-play goals allowed Chicago to regain its four-goal advantage.

Schmaltz scored his second of the game, adidas Sidney Crosby jersey, picking up Sharp's rebound to beat Condon high and Rutta made it 6-2 with a one-timer.

Combined, Anderson and Condon gave up five goals on nine shots in the second period. Bobby Ryan added to the misery by leaving the game favoring his hand and didn't return for the third.

The Senators looked good in the first period, but were still outshot 17-8 and gave up the first goal as Panik picked up the puck near the slot and threw it at the net to beat Anderson through traffic.
